Farantamba festival is staged by the village normally in every couple of years to commemorate the life and the enthronement of the first traditional chief installed by the colonial masters during the colonisation of The Gambia by the British. The curators would narrate the life of Farantamba, his rule and all the subsequent chiefs that followed after him to the current one as Kwinella has been one of the traditional ruling villages in the region with diverse cultures and traditions. Again, the idea is to teach our young generation about the past, present and the importance of cultures and traditions.
In all these above mentioned festivals, each of them is done in a very traditional way with amazing cultural displays under the guidance of the elders of the village. They are all well attended by people far and near and especially the tourists. These festivals could't be missed.
